LANGTANG VALLEY & GOSAINKUND TREKKING

‘walk around both scenic areas of Langtang Himal ridges and valleys’

Langtang Valley & Gosainkund Trekking is an adventure that takes you around both scenic and picturesque countries of the Langtang Himal range.

An exciting walk from green dense forest lined with rhododendron, pines, oaks, and fir trees to arid barren terrain. Trekkers can experience all types of landscapes, climates, and cultures in one single journey on Langtang Valley & Gosainkund Trekking.

The adventure begins with interesting overland from Kathmandu, heading high cooler hills on leaving the warmer farm areas to cooler hills. The walk starts from a nice traditional Syabrubesi village, as the climb leads into a narrow gorge covered in dense forest. Following the Langtang glacial river upstream past isolated farm villages, and then entering a wide-open valley at Kyanjin. A beautiful settlement with many nice lodges to cater to the needs of travelers, with rooms facing views of snow peaks.

At Kyanjin, having a day off for a scenic hike to higher ridges is the best way to get acclimatized. Climb on top of the view-points of Tserko or Kyanjin-Ri above 4,000 m high, rewards a spectacular panorama of surrounding high mountains.

After a pleasant and wonderful time, our next adventure leads to much higher areas, heading towards the Gosainkund pond. A famous pilgrimage spot for Hindu followers as well as for some Buddhists also. Once a year a religious festival is held in the full moon time of August, as per the Hindu Lunar calendar.

Thousands of devotees and pilgrims pay homage to the holy glacial pond of Gosainkund, taking a dip and a bathe. From Gosainkund, the adventure continues towards the highest point to cross East Laurabinaya or Gosainkund-La pass at 4,609 m /15,100 feet.

A great change of environment and landscapes, as adventure leads to east of Langtang Himal close around Helambu region. Walk follows around the high ridges with a few ups and more downhill, reaching a scenic top at Chisapani.

A lovely settlement, located high above the eastern rim of Kathmandu valley as well on route to famous Nagarkot and Helambu. From Chisapani enjoy the fantastic views of sunrise and sunsets that reflect on an array of Himalayan peaks towards the north.

Chisapani is the last place for overnights on the high hills of the adventure, the next morning a gradual descent to Sundarijal. Walk from Chisapani all downhill through nice cool forest and farm villages reaching farm town in Sundarijal.
