Lower Dolpo is a full circuit trekking around inner parts of the country, with few options to choose from. But we have set the itinerary keeping the main highlight of the trip for the return journey at the end. Which makes it much better for all travelers after getting acclimatized before heading towards scenic Phoksundo or Ringmo Lake.

An exciting feature of the trek is visiting a large town at Dunai, the headquarters of the Dolpo region. From Dunai, heading towards historical Tarakot known as fortress village guarding the town and villages against invaders during the Malla regime. After Tarakot walking into a remote country around Yak herders trail, as well following the old Trans Himalaya Caravan route.
Trekkers will be amazed by dramatic changes in landscapes, and culture as the walk leads to the remote village of Dho Tarap. An interesting settlement enriched with an age-old heritage of Buddhism and Bon ancient culture of pre-Buddhism. On leaving the last human settlement towards an isolated region of Lower Dolpo, crossing high passes of Numa-La and Baga-La. Walk follows on a tranquil trail to lovely Ringmo village and towards our main highlight at stunning Phoksundo Lake.
An enjoyable rest day at Ringmo to explore the scenic corners of Phoksundo Lake, surrounded by high rolling hills.
